Retirement report denied by Petrov's representative

Following the statement made by Petrov that football is over and this is the end. There have been reports that he has retired from the game.
In his speech to Bulgarian sports daily Tema Sport on saturday, Petrov said; “Football is over, this is the end. I am now beginning to fight for my life and I will fight.
“I lost my energy early in the second half (at arsenal) and it was very unusual for me.
“But this is life, you see we drank a coffee in London a week ago and now we are talking about things like this.”
“I’ll fight, it’s clear and also would like to thank everyone for the support from all around the world.”
But his representative Stephen Hughes has moved to clear up the situation saying that his client has no intentions to quit playing.

Can Jose Mourinho succeed Sir Alex Ferguson?

The tenure of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United has seen the club go through an era of success and dominance both in England and Europe, giving him a reputation as one of the most respected and admired managers in the history of the game.
The Scottish manager has been with Manchester United since 1986 and has won lots of trophies with them; twelve Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups, ten Community Shields, two UEFA Champions Leagues, UEFA Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Intercontinental Cup, FIFA Club World Cup.
When Sir Alex Ferguson finally leaves, the speculation is whether anyone can even fill the vacancy that will be left. So can Jose Mourinho replace him at Manchester United?

Alltime football great players

Though the list can go on and on if one wants to mention the great football players that have been produced but I have decided to select the best five.

Round up of quarter final Europa league first leg

The Europa league quarter final first leg ended with all the homes sides netting in two goals. It was victory for the home sides in all the matches except for the match between Schalke 04 against Athletic Bilbao which ended four goals to two in favor of Athletic. Athletic's Fernando Llorente netted twice while Oscar de Marcos and Iker Muniain got the other two goals. The two goals from Schalke came from Raul.
The other three matches ended with the same score line with the home sides scoring two goals each and the visitors getting only one.
Az Alkmaar beat Valencia by two goals to one, Sporting Lisbon defeated FC Metalist Kharkiv by two goals to one. The match between Atletico Madrid against Hannover also ended two goals to one in favor of Atletico.
The second leg comes up on the 5th of April 2012.

Milan draw Barca while Bayern beat Marseille

Though the match between Milan and Barca ended goalless, there was no dull moment through out the match. There were scoring opportunities missed between the two teams starting from the miss by Robinho less than 5minutes into to match. Barca took control of the greater part of the match and Alexis Sanchez thought he deserved a penalty when he came down following a contact from Milan's goalkeeper Abbiati.
With this result the second leg which will be played in spain is still very open as a win by any of the two sides will see the team moving to the next round.
The match between Marseille and Bayern ended with two goals in favor of Bayern. The first goal came from Mario Gomez at the tail of the first half while Arjen Robben netted in the second. With the two away goals Bayern stand a better chance to progress to the next round.

The match between Manchester United and Fulham ended with United wining by a goal from Wayne Ronney. This takes United to 73 points followed closely by Manchester City with 70 points. As it stands now united are in control but the question still remains can they hold on to the lead with just 8 matches left.
