CL: Bayern beat Madrid on pentaly to qualify for final



Bayerm Munich defeated Madrid 3-1 on penalty to qualify for the Champions League final.

The game went into extra time after the match ended 2-1 (3-3 aggregate) in favour of Real Madird. The match was later decided on penalties as both team failed to score in the thirty minutes extra time.

Madrid opened score from the spot just six minutes into the game after Ronaldo converted a penalty.
Cristiano Ronaldo got a brace eight minutes later to make it two for the home side, making it his 10th goal in the Champions league this season.

The referee awarded the second penalty of the game in the 27th minute, this time in favor or Bayern and Arjen Robben did well to convert it bringing Bayern back into the game.

Chances were created in the second half but both teams were unable to get a goal. The extra thirty minutes equally did not produce a winner and the match entered into penalty shoot out.

Out of the four penalties played by Madrid, only Alonso was able to convert his. Ronaldo, Kaka and Ramos all missed theirs.

Bayern Munich will now play Chelsea in the Champions League final on May 19 in Munich.
